WHY I STARTED SEVEY WEALTH
I Left the Traditional Model to Build Something Better
From my side of the desk, a client with $2 million and a client with $5 million require the same work. The planning isn't more complex. The service isn't better. But the fee is double. Why? Because they can.
After 22 years inside Fidelity and Schwab, I watched this play out over and over. Clients paying $30,000, $40,000, $50,000 a year — often without realizing it.
Portfolios built from the same model allocations regardless of the client's actual situation. Advisors who hesitated to recommend paying off a mortgage or gifting money to grandchildren because every dollar that left the portfolio reduced their fee. Advisors who recommended annuities — not because the client needed them, but because the product paid a commission.
The advice wasn't wrong because the advisors were bad people. It was wrong because the business model made it that way.
I built Sevey Wealth to do it differently. Flat fee. Custom portfolio. Advice that doesn't change based on your balance.
